The Leela Gandhinagar is committed to environmental conservation and sustainability. Initiatives include discontinuing plastic water bottles at the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre, using food waste for compost manure (over 25 tonnes produced since September 2021), planting saplings, cultivating organic vegetables, promoting eco-friendly transportation with bicycle rides, and organizing zero-waste events. The Leela group integrates environmental considerations into its business strategy, focusing on decarbonization, renewable energy, water stewardship (member of Alliance for Water Stewardship), energy efficiency, and circular economy initiatives, including a pledge to the Global Tourism Plastics Initiative (GTPI) and using Organic Waste Composters.

The Leela Gandhinagar, in conjunction with the Mahatma Mandir Convention and Exhibition Centre (which it manages), is a strategic project partnered with the Government of Gujarat, The Ministry of Railways, and IRSDC.
