Sustainability

Speke Resort Convention Centre demonstrates a strong commitment to sustainability through various initiatives. These include donating approximately 8 tons of leftover convention items, lost and found items, and surplus furniture to local schools, libraries, churches, and shelters. Water conservation efforts involve low-flow automatic sinks and toilets, drip irrigation, drought-tolerant plants, and smart irrigation systems. The centre practices food composting for all food scraps and sources all food items from local, organic suppliers to reduce CO2 emissions. Energy conservation is achieved through solar-powered lights and water heaters, energy-saving bulbs and LEDs, and card-activated power supply in guest rooms. The resort also focuses on environmentally responsible purchasing and uses locally sourced materials for refurbishments.
