About this Venue
Setia SPICE Convention Centre is a world-class integrated convention centre and the world's first hybrid solar-powered convention centre, located in Penang, Malaysia. It is Eco Green GBI certified and features a subterranean design with a large pillarless ballroom, numerous function rooms, and a 6-7 acre rooftop garden/park. It is part of the larger Setia SPICE complex which also includes an arena, aquatic centre, canopy, and an adjacent business-class hotel.

Setia SPICE Convention Centre is the world's first hybrid solar-powered convention centre, with solar panels providing 20-30% of its power requirements. It is Eco Green GBI certified and incorporates expansive green spaces, eco-friendly technology, energy-efficient systems, and social inclusive design. Sustainability initiatives include rainwater harvesting, omitting single-use plastic, bottling drinking water in-house, waste segregation, and upcycling event banners.

Setia SPICE is a collaboration project between the Penang State government and S P Setia Berhad. S P Setia was granted a 30-year concession by the Penang Island City Council to manage and operate the complex, with the Penang Island City Council being the owner.
