Sustainability

The Osaka International Convention Center (Grand Cube Osaka) has undertaken several sustainability initiatives. These include calculating CO2 emissions for events based on electricity and gas consumption, issuing CO2 Emission Reports to organizers, using FSC-certified paper and vegetable oil ink for printed materials, and adopting kome-kami (paper made from non-edible rice) for business cards. The venue also offers certified coffee options, including JAS Organic and Rainforest Alliance Certified blends, and supports local events. The facility introduced its Sustainability Policy in April 2025, aiming to strengthen its commitment to becoming a leading urban MICE facility in Asia.

There are also specific subsidies for events aligning with Expo 2025 themes. The subsidy amounts can range from 5 million yen (approximately $31,455 USD) to 30 million yen, depending on event size, covering expenses like venue rental, equipment, setup, and shuttle bus operation.
