About this Venue
The Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre (GR) is Slovenia's leading event venue, comprising 20 multifunctional halls that occupy a surface area of 12,323 square metres of indoor space, complemented by 8,844 square metres of external exhibition space. It can accommodate events from 15 to 6,000 delegates. The venue is an example of modern functionalist architecture, renovated between 2001 and 2008, and is equipped with state-of-the-art technical equipment. It annually hosts over 200 national and international events, attracting around 500,000 visitors. The GR is situated in the city centre, offering easy accessibility and a short walk from most hotels and public transport. Sustainability is at the heart of its operations, with initiatives like solar panels, waste management, and energy-saving measures.

Sustainability
Sustainability is central to operations, with a focus on achieving SDG goals. The venue features new solar panels on its roof, generating approximately 500 MWh of electricity annually and reducing CO2 emissions by up to 480 tonnes per year. Other initiatives include waste management (separating 12 types of waste), energy-saving measures (upgraded heating/cooling, LED lighting, energy-efficient AV equipment), eliminating plastic at events, using natural materials for exhibition installations, maintaining green areas, and planning a cycling station with e-bike charging. The venue also promotes sustainable transport through agreements for free public transport for event participants and encourages locally grown food for catering. It aligns sustainability reporting with the European CSRD Directive.
