InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is committed to sustainability through various initiatives, including phasing out single-use plastic bottles in guest rooms and public areas since November 2022, replacing them with bulk amenities from Pure Fiji. The resort is part of IHG's global 'Journey to Tomorrow' sustainable goals and implements the 'Greener Stay' initiative, allowing guests to opt out of housekeeping for rewards points. They work with Sustainable Community Partners, have a coral propagation program with Reef Safari, conduct monthly beach clean-up days, and manage food waste by repurposing it as pig feed for local farmers. The resort also participates in the Mission Pacific Recycling Program for PET bottles and aluminum cans, maintains an on-site Spa InterContinental Herb Garden, and was the first resort in Fiji to adopt the Manta Beach Cleaner technology. Additionally, 80% or more of food on-site is locally sourced, and there is a commitment to sustainability/community reinvestment (10% revenue or more), along with guest education on local ecosystems and culture.
