About this congress
The 8th World Congress of the Game Theory Society will take place from July 17 – 21, 2028, at Stony Brook University. The World Congress takes place every four years, alternating continents as much as possible, and constitutes the most important gathering for game theorists. It includes keynotes and contributions and awards the Kalai prize to the selected paper at the interface of game theory and computer science in the last decade. The 8th World Congress will include a commemorative session to mark the 30th anniversary of the Game Theory Society. It is the premier global conference in game theory, a field of mathematics and economics that studies strategic decision-making between rational actors (players) whose outcomes depend on each other's choices. It analyzes situations where the best course of action for one participant depends on what others decide to do — whether in competition, cooperation or conflict. The field has wide-ranging applications across mathematics, economics, computer science, political science, psychology, biology and business.
