The Westin Wilmington is committed to sustainability, hosting green meetings in LEED-certified spaces designed for efficiency. Initiatives include using glass water bottles and hydration stations to reduce single-use plastic. The hotel is certified for Delaware's Green Lodging Program, implementing practices such as recycling, water conservation, optional linen service, energy conservation, and a “green events” package. Further efforts include purchasing EPA-compliant paper products, using recycled key cards, composting food scraps, and having a green roof. They also use non-phosphate, non-toxic, and biodegradable laundry detergents, track waste and energy usage, minimize disposables, encourage suppliers to minimize packaging, purchase local and organic produce, and utilize LED lighting, programmable thermostats, natural lighting, and green cleaners.
