Sustainability
Tampere Hall is Finland's first carbon-neutral congress and concert center in terms of energy use, achieved through a long-term commitment to environmental actions since 1991. It utilizes renewable energy, including three rooftop solar power plants with 514 panels, and sources remaining electricity from Tammerkoski. The venue holds the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, meeting strict environmental requirements across energy, water, food, waste, chemicals, and procurement. Tampere Hall is committed to the UN Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development, focusing on reducing waste (especially food waste), recycling biowaste for biogas, and promoting responsible procurement. Its restaurants are at Level 5 of the 'Steps to Organic' program, using at least 30 permanent organic ingredients, and won the Organic Finnish Championship 2024 in the private food service category. The venue avoids disposable tableware and bottled water, reuses name-badge holders, and prioritizes local, sustainably certified suppliers.
