Sustainability
Nemacolin is committed to sustainability through mindful business practices, waste reduction, renewable energy, and water reuse. Highlights include a 138.8kW array of 308 photovoltaic solar panels on The Chateau, generating 163.7MWh annually. The 'Project Nemaculture' initiative uses hydroponics for organic produce. The resort partners with Envizi to track greenhouse gas emissions and aims for Net Zero Waste, utilizing AI in kitchens to mitigate food waste (partnered with Winnow). The golf cart fleet is electric, and refillable PATH bottles are available. 40% of water is sourced from on-property wells and 100% is treated on-site. They have implemented plastic-free, reusable in-room amenities and biodegradable, plant-based to-go boxes. Nemacolin also partners with the Boy Scouts of America for natural pest mitigation and Youth Bee Works for onsite honey production. All used vegetable oil is converted to biodiesel, and harvested timber is repurposed.
