The Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is LEED Gold Certified. Its sustainability efforts include reducing electricity consumption (12.7% from 2009-2010) and water consumption (24.4%), extensive recycling (office paper, newspaper, glass, metal cans, plastic, construction waste, cardboard, bulbs, batteries, electronics, pallets), and food waste composting using a decomposition machine.
