Hyatt Regency Koh Samui is deeply committed to sustainability, aligning with Hyatt's 2030 Environmental Goals. Initiatives include reducing waste, conserving water, and optimizing energy usage since 2021. The resort has integrated advanced occupancy sensors in guest rooms, installed a 515kWp solar rooftop system (estimated annual generation of 760,000 kWh), and implemented a small-scale desalination plant to minimize dependence on groundwater. They focus on plastic waste reduction by replacing single-use plastics with reusable glass bottles and biodegradable packaging. Sustainable sourcing is also a priority, with at least 85% of ingredients sourced from within Thailand, including free-range, cage-free chicken and eggs from local farms, and cultivation of in-house microgreens. The hotel also engages in community support through vocational college collaborations, weekly lunches at the Samui Special Needs Foundation, and biannual blood donation drives.
