About this Venue
The Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées, commonly known as the Grand Palais, is a historic site, exhibition hall, and museum complex located in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France. Built for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, it is an architectural masterpiece combining Beaux-Arts style with ornate stone facades, glass vaults, and iron and light steel framing. It is renowned for its enormous glass roof, which is the largest in Europe. The venue hosts major national and international events, including art exhibitions, cultural events, fashion shows, and sporting competitions. It comprises the Nave, the Galeries nationales, and the Palais de la Découverte (a science museum). The Grand Palais underwent a significant restoration from 2021 to 2025, reopening progressively for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and fully in June 2025, with a focus on modernizing facilities while preserving its heritage and improving accessibility and sustainability.
