Grand Hyatt Hong Kong is committed to continually improving environmental and social sustainability through a partnership with EarthCheck, achieving EarthCheck Benchmark Silver Accreditation in 2024. They actively measure energy, water consumption, and waste generation via EcoTrack, reducing energy consumption by 3.78% per sqm in 2024 (vs. 2019 baseline) and food waste by 50% in 2024 (vs. 2023). The hotel channels surplus food to Foodlink Foundation (8,029kg in 2024) and upcycles pineapple peels for kombucha. They eliminated 414,000 single-use plastic items since 2022, switching to large format amenities in rooms in 2023, and use FSC™ certified wood for key cards. Leftover soap bars are recycled through Soap Cycling. Water served in carafes is standard for guestrooms, meetings, and events. The hotel is committed to responsibly sourced seafood (55% certified sustainable) and cage-free eggs (97%), and is a member of the Hong Kong Sustainable Seafood Coalition. They also collaborate with Zero Foodprint Asia to support local farmers in regenerative agriculture.
