The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre (GCCEC) is a leader in environmental innovation, holding EarthCheck Master certification since 2023, the highest accolade in the program. Since its opening in 2004, GCCEC has consistently integrated environmental and social sustainability into its operations, strategy, and planning. Key initiatives include a robust Sustainability Policy, Environmental Management Plan, waste minimisation (75% recycling/reuse), energy and water management, procurement of sustainable products and packaging (e.g., carbon-neutral BioPak packaging), and an ongoing partnership with OzHarvest for food rescue (redistributing over 17,000 meals since 2014).
