Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea is committed to preserving and regenerating the environment. Initiatives include saltwater pools, extensive energy conservation and recycling programs, EV charging stations, electric bicycles, and vegan/vegetarian menu options. The resort uses salt technology in pools, replaces linens/towels every third day (unless requested), and participates in a Soil Thrive Solutions pilot program for landscaping. Complimentary reef-friendly sunscreen is provided. Food and beverage initiatives include local, sustainable, and seasonal menu items, 100% cage-free eggs, responsibly sourced seafood, and a composting program for all food outlets. The resort has eliminated single-use plates, cutlery, and cups, and uses in-room large-format, refillable bathroom amenities made of 100% recycled plastics. A refillable “Pathwater” aluminum water bottle program is in place. The resort supports local biodiversity with an on-property beehive and tree-planting trips, and partners with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for restoration. Guests can participate in the Mālama Hawaiʻi program (Shoreline Debris Monitoring, Blue ʻĀina Reef Cleanup) and receive a resort credit. The resort also offers carbon offsetting for private jet travel.
