Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island

The Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island is committed to preserving and regenerating the environment and leaving a positive, enduring impact on its local community. Initiatives include the elimination of single-use plastics (water bottles, bathroom amenities), use of environmentally friendly water in glass bottles through a BE WTR filtering system, and a recycling program. The hotel's façade is designed using mashrabiya, an ancient architectural technique, which shields the building from the sun's intense rays and creates natural ventilation, partially sourcing energy from renewable or carbon-free sources, and implementing energy-saving guest room controls. Water conservation measures are in place, including water-efficient landscaping. The hotel offers electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, vegan and vegetarian menu items, and uses eco-certified cleaning products. It actively engages suppliers to prioritize eco-friendly packaging solutions and locally sourced, fair-trade, and environmentally friendly products. Sustainable design and construction methodologies were a key imperative throughout the project, registered with the Urban Planning Council (UPC) as a pilot Estidama scheme, with an anticipated Pearl 3 rating.
