About this Venue

The Sandton Convention Centre (SCC) is South Africa's leading event venue, offering prestigious multi-use event spaces in the financial hub of Johannesburg. Conveniently located in the vibrant business district of Sandton, it is within easy reach of the Gautrain and O. R. Tambo International Airport. The Sandton Convention Centre is committed to environmental sustainability, adhering to the Southern Sun group's environmental policy. Initiatives include prevention of pollution, waste management (with on-site separation into recyclable and non-recyclable materials, and all food waste diverted from landfills since January 2023 using the Bokashi system), conservation of natural resources, and biodiversity management. They engage suppliers, contractors, and visitors in their efforts and are involved in the local community. Electricity and water usage are managed with systems and sensors to reduce consumption, such as lights off when not in use, environmentally friendly carpet cleaning, automated water control sensors, and escalators switched off when not in use. They practice sustainability-aligned purchasing, buying locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, and designing menus to reduce waste.
