About this Venue
One&Only Nyungwe House is a luxury eco-resort nestled within a working tea plantation on the edge of Nyungwe Forest National Park in mountainous southwest Rwanda. Sustainability
One&Only Nyungwe House is deeply committed to sustainability. Efforts include sourcing produce from the chef's garden or nearby farmers, eliminating plastic on-site, and supporting local artisans for turndown gifts. The resort works with the Nyungwe Cultural Village Cooperative for tea picking, generating income for locals. Guests can participate in 'Umuganda' (community initiatives) and tree planting. The resort also supports the Kora Tubungabunga Ibidukikije Cooperative, which helps former poachers find alternative income streams like farming and maintaining hiking trails. All buildings are LEED Green certified, waste is sorted for reuse and recycling, and 1% of net profits are donated to local schools. Complimentary reusable water bottles are provided to reduce plastic waste during treks.
