About this Venue
The Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, commonly known as the Javits Center, is a large convention center located on Eleventh Avenue between 34th and 38th Street in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, New York City. Designed by architect James Ingo Freed of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, it opened in 1986, replacing the New York Coliseum as the city's major convention facility. The center spans six blocks and features a reflective glass exterior. Following a major expansion completed in 2021, it now boasts a total interior area of 3.3 million square feet (310,000 m2) and is considered one of the busiest convention centers in the United States. It offers tremendous structural flexibility with floor-to-ceiling acoustical dividing walls, allowing for numerous configurations of its exhibition and meeting spaces. The Javits Center is also recognized for its significant investment in sustainable operations, including a 6.75-acre green roof, a one-acre rooftop farm, and solar panels.

Sustainability
The Javits Center is a leader in sustainability, featuring a 6.75-acre green roof (one of the largest in the US) that serves as a wildlife habitat, mitigates nearly 7 million gallons of stormwater runoff annually, and reduces urban heat island effect. It also has a one-acre rooftop farm (Steel Farm) and a Food Forest & Orchard, providing produce for catering. Over 2,000 solar panels power up to 10% of the campus. The facility uses bird-friendly glass, which has reduced bird collisions by over 90%. It achieved a 45% waste diversion rate in 2024 and operates the JavitsCares program, donating leftover items and food to local community organizations. The center also participates in the Demand Response energy reduction program and utilizes a four-story truck marshaling building to reduce emissions and traffic.
