Adelaide Convention Centre is the world's first convention centre to achieve EarthCheck Master certification, demonstrating over 15 years of commitment to best practices in business and environmental sustainability. Key initiatives include a greater than 99% diversion from landfill rate, virtual elimination of organic waste through careful meal planning and a community food redistribution program (donating over 240,000 unused meals), and the installation of Adelaide's first WasteMaster system. The Centre focuses on energy and water conservation, with significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and potable water consumption, including a staged transition to LED lighting.
