About this congress
The 25th World Congress of Social Psychiatry will take place in Marrakech, Morocco, from 15th to 17th January 2026. The main theme is: “Caring for the Vulnerable: Making Social Psychiatry Clinically Relevant.” It is an important opportunity to learn about what's new in the field of Social Psychiatry, celebrate the 60th anniversary of the World Association of Social Psychiatry (WASP), and includes activities such as the prestigious WASP Yves Pelicier Prize awarded during the opening ceremony, the election of new officers of the Executive Committee during the General Assembly, and the meeting of the WASP Council of past presidents to review the statutes, reinstate scientific sections and create new ones. The congress will highlight the importance of addressing social determinants and vulnerabilities in mental health care, and the Marrakesh Manifesto will underscore the necessity of integrating social care into psychiatry, advocating for equitable access and addressing social determinants. The scientific program includes plenary lectures, symposia, workshops, films on mental health, oral presentations, and poster sessions.
