Sustainability
W Seattle is committed to sustainability, evidenced by its Green Seal Gold certification and 4 Keys by Green Key International. Initiatives include refilling bathroom products to reduce plastic waste, recycling 100% of laundry water through an AquaRecycle® system, and sourcing food from sustainable and ethical sources (75% made in-house, cooking oil recycled into biodiesel). Meeting room notepads are made of recycled and SFI certified paper. The hotel implements a solid waste program with food waste composting and single-stream recycling, aiming for only 5% of guest room garbage to end up in landfills. It uses municipal steam for water heating instead of natural gas and features auto-adjusting room temperatures to save energy.
