About this Venue
Umaid Bhawan Palace, located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, is one of the world's largest private residences, a part of which is managed by Taj Hotels. Perched on Chittar Hill, it offers exotic views of the historical Blue City, vast sand dunes, and Mehrangarh Fort. Commissioned by Maharaja Umaid Singh between 1929 and 1943, the palace was built as a drought-relief measure, providing employment to over 3,000 people. It is a magnificent example of Indo-Deco architecture, blending Indian classical elements with Western Art Deco sensibilities, featuring golden-yellow Chittar sandstone. The palace functions as a royal residence for the Jodhpur royal family, a luxury heritage hotel, and a public museum. It is renowned for hosting grand gatherings, including celebrity weddings, and offers a fusion of warm Indian hospitality and world-class service.
