Sanctuary Cap Cana is committed to sustainable tourism practices, implementing eco-friendly initiatives to minimize its environmental impact. Key initiatives include replacing plastic straws with bamboo, using refillable glass water bottles, and eliminating plastic bin liners. Restaurants use paper bags and biodegradable/compostable containers for takeaway. Sustainable room practices involve unplugging electrical appliances in vacant rooms, setting AC to 25°C after cleaning, and monitoring energy/water consumption and waste production. Guests are encouraged to reuse towels, and all water faucets, showers, and toilets have water-saving flow rates. Over 90% of the hotel's lighting is LED. The resort also focuses on tackling food waste by separating it to increase recyclability.
