Sustainability
ICC Kyoto is dedicated to sustainability, implementing initiatives such as switching to LED lighting throughout the facility and introducing a Building Energy Management System (BEMS) in 2023 for efficient energy use. Since 2023, food waste generated in the conference center is recycled. Efforts are made to reduce food loss in catering and encourage guests to use reusable bottles. The New Hall, built in 2018, incorporates environmental technology and actively uses wooden materials. The center has hosted significant environmental conferences like COP3 (where the Kyoto Protocol was adopted), the World Water Forum, and IPCC meetings. Kyoto became the first city in Asia to join the Global Destination Sustainability Index in 2016, reflecting ICC Kyoto's broader commitment to environmental leadership.

Subvention & Funding Support
The Kyoto Convention & Visitors Bureau (KCVB) supports events in Kyoto and offers a carbon offset program for meetings and events, allowing organizers to purchase carbon credits generated by the local community. While not direct financial subvention, this represents a form of local support for sustainable events.
