ICC Sydney is committed to best practice environmental sustainability through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aiming to minimise negative environmental impact and provide positive social contribution. Initiatives include targeting 75% operational waste diversion from landfill, removing single-use plastics, sourcing 20% renewable energy (including a 520kW community-owned solar array), providing 100% of irrigation and 63% of toilet flushing demands from harvested rainwater, and procuring local goods and services. Catering menus are shaped by carbon footprint assessments and feature local, seasonal, and native ingredients. The venue holds LEED Gold, ISO 14001, and EarthCheck Silver certifications. Its Legacy Program allows clients to advance social and sustainability objectives of their events.

ICC Sydney was delivered through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) with the Government of New South Wales and Darling Harbour Live (comprising LendLease, Hostplus, Capella Capital, AEG Ogden/ASM Global, Aware Super, and Spotless FM). Business Events Sydney (BESydney), an independent not-for-profit organisation supported by the NSW Government and City of Sydney, also provides support for events. The venue's Legacy Program offers opportunities for clients to contribute to the city's cultural capital and advance social and sustainability objectives of their events.
