Sustainability
Grand Hyatt Mumbai has implemented several sustainability initiatives, including an automated in-house drinking water bottling plant that washes, sterilizes, and refills glass bottles, significantly reducing plastic waste and carbon emissions from transportation. The hotel supports sustainable tourism by using biodegradable materials. Since 2012, it has harnessed wind energy from a 2 MW turbine in Sangali, Maharashtra, covering 13% of its total energy consumption. Energy-saving measures include motion sensors, LED lighting, and in-room systems to optimize light and air conditioning in vacant rooms. Waste reduction efforts include at-source waste segregation, composting, rainwater harvesting, and water treatment with zero discharge plans and STPs to treat and recycle wastewater for cooling towers and horticulture.
