Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island is committed to preserving and regenerating the environment. Initiatives include an on-island solar plant (second largest in Seychelles) reducing diesel consumption by 85% and CO2 by 3,200 tons annually. The resort practices active recycling (glass, cans, kitchen/engine oil, water for irrigation, laundry water reuse), uses low-energy air conditioning and LED bulbs, and heats water via a heat recovery system and solar power. They source fruit, vegetables, and fresh produce from the island's agricultural farm. The resort also supports local biodiversity through a partnership with the Desroches Island Conservation Society (ICS), offering activities like tortoise feeding and adoption, beach clean-ups, and native tree planting. Single-use plastic water bottles have been eliminated, and refillable ceramic containers are used for bathroom amenities.
