Sustainability
The Amway Grand Plaza has implemented various sustainability programs including multi-stream recycling, waste-sorting stations in public areas, and the elimination of plastic straws from all eight onsite restaurants and bars. They partner with GoodR for food-waste management and hunger relief, and Kids Food Basket. The hotel emphasizes locally sourced products and frequent vegetarian offerings. Leftover prepared food goes to an in-house staff cafeteria or local nonprofit food projects, and food waste is composted. Energy-efficient LED lighting, water-conserving low-flush toilets, and electricity-saving occupancy sensors are installed throughout the facility. In 2021, the hotel replaced all the glass on its 29-story tower façade, which increased energy efficiency by double digits. The hotel also offers guests the option to forego daily housekeeping to reduce water usage.
