International Astronomical Union (IAU)

The International Astronomical Union (IAU) is an international non-governmental organization (INGO) dedicated to promoting and safeguarding the science of astronomy in all its aspects through international cooperation. It organizes scientific conferences, symposia, and triennial General Assemblies worldwide, serving as a forum for professional astronomers. The IAU is not a MICE industry organizer or PCO based in Cape Town, ZA; its headquarters are in Paris, France.
